INTRODUCTION
Religion is an experience of awe and mystery (Otto, 1995: 33) and can for sure be defined in many other ways by various groups of different beliefs. However, after researching religions around the existence Otto (1995: 33) realized that all religions are a response to “the hallowed”. The “holy” that he refers to is his name for the mysterious, awe-inspiring and most inspirational Supreme Being of existence which we all experience (Otto, 1995). This expression intends to focus on the key aspects of life, death and rebirth in a particular religion namely, Buddhism.

WHAT IS BUDDHISM?
Buddha is a name apt(p) to somebody of the highest spirituality and means ‘One who is awake’ in spiritual reality (Wray, 2006: 6). Hatier, F & His Holiness the XIV Lama, D. (2002: 9) states that;

As long as space endures,
As long as sentient beings remain,
Until then, may I too remain
And absquatulate the miseries of the world.

Wray (2006) too, believes that Buddhism is well known for being nonpareil of the most all important(predicate) faiths in the world and Buddhist thinking is directly influencing half the countries in the world.



Rather than a religion, Buddhists believe Buddhism to be a “knowledge and new form of consciousness” (Duane, 1997) and a “ silent wisdom” (Suzuki, 1949: 129). In order for one to understand Buddhism, one must know something about Buddhism itself.

DHARMA
According to Clarke (1998), Dharma is the word employ to describe what Buddhism teaches about life. One of the key aspects that Buddhists live by is, “Nothing in the universe that exists stays the same forever.” (Clarke, 1998; Duane, 1997 & Wray, 2006). Consequently, Clarke (1998: 3) states the tierce Marks of Existence or the Three Universal Truths as being:

1. Everything that exists will change. Everything is impermanent.
2. Everyone has to suffer at some time.
3. No one stays the same forever.
